Alex is a certified Yoga instructor and is registered nationally through the Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour professional level. She has earned certifications as a Hatha Yoga instructor and Ashtanga Yoga instructor.
Hot Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga have been the foundation for her personal yoga practice as well as her teacher training. She has also trained extensively with internationally recognized Yoga masters such as Sharath Rangaswami, David Swenson, David Robson, Ann GreenTodd Norian and Ron Reid as well as many other gifted mentors in a diversity of yoga styles such as Iyengar, Kundalini, Anusara and Jivamuukti.
Alex has been teaching yoga for 6 years. She was teaching actively after she gave birth to her daughter after 2006 and instructed almost 2,000 yoga classes. Her intention is to create a nurturing and safe environment while providing quality yoga classes that will facilitate the unfolding of the body, mind and heart of her students into the beauty of wholeness. Her great hands on adjustment technique and creative teaching style encourage and honor the discovery of each person's uniqueness as she guides them into experiences of self-awareness, acceptance and ultimate healing.
Wendy tried her first yoga class about 10 years ago, and was immediately drawn to the practice. She has been continually experiencing the benefit from what a mindful practice can bring – inner peace, sharper mind, better stamina as well as various therapeutic effects.
She completed her yoga teacher training program at the Downward Dog Yoga Centre and received her certification as an ashtanga yoga teacher. She continues to evolve and build her practice and to learn the ashtanga system from Ron Reid, Diane Bruni and David Gellineau.
A series of events in her life inspired her to pursue the knowledge of the yoga tradition as well as the ontology of buddhism study. In her practice, she has gained balance, strength and connection with the Self. It is her passion to share this inner peace, harmony and bliss with others.
As a busy mother of 4, I find my yoga practice a welcome release from the stresses of day to day life. Yoga changed my life after, at the age of 39, I took a bad tumble off my mountain bike and broke several bones. The healing and subsequent joy I garnered from my practice instilled in me a desire to share this amazing way of life with others. Through gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement in the Hatha style, I like to think that I challenge my students to channel their own wonderful energy to be the best they can be on this remarkable journey.
I believe that yoga is a integral part of a balanced and diverse life. For my part, I continue to seek out new challenges and find joy in mountain biking and gardening in the warmer months, and snowshoeing and skiing in the colder months. I love making new friends and sharing a busy lifestyle with my husband Tom and whichever of our four children are home at any given time.
Life is good!

| Ava S
Gillian was raised in a family inspired by travel and adventure, exposing her to a wide array of religious and cultural influences from an early age. It wasn't until she was an adult living in Montreal that she was introduced to yoga by a reiki practitioner and yoga student from New York. Immediately, she felt the power behind the practice and challenged herself to break away with the bonds of old habits. After many years of searching she found in yoga a greater sense of passion and purpose like she had never felt before.
Gillian views her yoga practice as a life-long journey of learning. In 2010, she studied, trained and practiced Hatha yoga in Nepal. Under the instruction of renowned Vinyasa flow specialist Dominique Renucci, gaining her 200-hour Yoga Alliance teaching qualification. In 2012, Gillian's tenacity and passion for teaching led her to Rishikesh, India to continue her ongoing study with Dominique. She returned with her 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification.
Gillian has a creative and dynamic teaching style. Her classes focus on awareness, alignment, and strength while still delivering a well-rounded practice . Gillian wants her students to be encouraged by the rhythm of their steps and breath. One breath, one movement. By constantly challenging herself in her own practice and studies she has established a practical and down-to-earth approach that makes her accessible to all students. Gillian's classes are ever evolving as she continually looks for new ways to illuminate and inspire her students.
